Failed Citizenry..

I hear Kenya has found a savior finally, its been over 50 years since it got self rule as a state and has been on a down hill roll.. A majority of its citizens living in abject poverty, health care is a luxury not a basic provision, and so is food. The provision and availability of the basic necessities is highly politicized, political leadership  has continued to encourage negative ethnicity for their own political gain and political survival. a citizenry that continues to be very ignorant of their rights, a citizenry totally dependent on the government to employ them, provide food on their table.. a citizenry that do not read the constitution,  they wait for the politicians to do so for them, unaware of their rights they cannot hold the leadership accountable...

They dance to whomsoever tune as long as it attracts their emotions.. yes, a citizenry led by their emotions and not logic. A citizenry that argues out of ignorance and not facts.. A Failed Citizenry that cannot decipher the personal political interests when they are disguised in national interest, these are the Kenyan people, the electorate that is very unstable, always willing to sell their votes to the highest bidder and when another tune is played they are on and dancing, oblivion is a norm ...

Now they have found a savior, and they have given him support, yet the self proclaimed savior was once one of the most powerful ones, as a matter of fact he had half of the government of Kenya under him.. yet he never saved Kenya then, but when he was out of power, he offers to save Kenya.. and yes kenyans  have given him support... talk of people who forget so easily, talk of poverty acting as a tool for manipulation of the hungry citizenry by the political elite.. Kenyans forget fast, they are less critical, are hungry for power, and negative ethnicity is engraved in them... the elite know this and they will always use this to fulfill their personal interests, until Kenyans change their thinking....

IRONY...

Talk of irony, you bite the hand that feed you and you expect to be fed by it still.. you scoop fire with your own bare hands and you expect not to be burned.. you walk into a battle ground and you expect not to get bruised..

you create a monster and you demonize it, you are reckless and selfish and you expect someone to take care of you.. you accommodate any crime as long as its giving you more in the bank.. you walk like a saint yet you know what kind of a hell you are creating.. bending the law any time the highest bidder shows up.. being the first to point a finger at others when the social evil you helped to create bites you.. who are you.. who are you.. Does this image look familiar?

You are a Kenyan citizen that is hungry for money, hungry for self interest, hungry for power at any cost.. you are the selfish being who will trash our constitution all in the name of a shilling.. you are that Kenyan who is first to blame the government when the vice is too big that it shows up at the door step, yes you are that.. your patriotism gone, it moved from your heart to pure presence,  the sense of belonging and responsible citizenship thrown out of the window and what is left is a divided nation .. ethnicity, class and religion.. what is left is a country in dire need of unity. a country in dire need of re thinking their roots, and measuring their patriotic quotient..

PREAMBLE

We are back to the same spot, ran a particular lap and we up in the same spot,  we look at how murky the spot is, and work so hard to run away from it. We avoid looking at it keenly, we avoid cleaning it. we avoid looking for a solution to that particular spot, and every two years we are back there.. and running we start, we want to avoid the place as much as we can. Yes that's us, we are that nation, we are oblivious of the stench, we are good at ignoring the building up of the garbage, its a part of us, mediocrity is in our DNA. That is our pride... no wonder so many keep dying of the same drought in Turkana..

We are like the proverbial man that looks at himself in the mirror and forget how he looks like, we are good at forgetting, "Out of mind, Out of sight".. that is us, no innovation, lack of planning, abandonment of accountability,  loss of  somberness..
