SERIKALI :THEIR BLAME, OUR BLAME

For the Kenyans who blame the Serikali.for everything that happens, for every misfortune, every calamity, every disaster... Yet their actions cause all these. They are the ingredients, the chemicals, the catalysts; that cause these reactions!  They build business stall next to the railway line and refuse to vacate when asked to: yet when trains rolls over them they cry out that the Serikali has failed them.....

They steal the sign post that are erected to cub accidents, to improve on their own safety! They sell them as scrape metal to the metal smolders who gladly transact with them... hours later a trailer hits a group of school kids who are crossing the road.... The villagers are up in arms blaming the Serikali. for poor planning.....

They erect a dingy petrol station on a pedestrian leave way. They do not take into consideration the people who pass there. The ignorant smokers passing by, there is an electricity transformer on top of the petrol station. They do not even bother to erect a fence around it. The civilians watch and own the business and support it by buying paraffin cheaply. When it blows up and there are casualties, the civilians are on the streets blaming the Serikali....

They brew illicit liquor that is not fit for human consumption. They thrive and make millions at the expense of  lives of the ignorant Kenyans. Despite the common knowledge that the liqur will make them impotent and at worst case senario , lifeless, the citizens continue to consume the liqour. When a whole village is wiped out or a considerable chunk of villagers goes blind, they remember to point out the failures of the Serikali.....

They cut trees  and make a kill from selling charcoal. they destroy forest and water catchment areas reduce. They grab the forest areas and build residential s. They improve they their financial status buy getting a lot of tenants. But  only for a while, nature does not forgive. The rains decrease, food production lowers, food prices hike, and severe drought is experienced. When living standards become unmanageable and citizens starts to die of drought, then the angry Kenyans are out to demonstrate and blame the Serikali. for lack of Mitigation...

And most recent: the Mukuru Sinai fire just hit us. Hon Mike Sonko was busy telling the Serikali. to : shift the pipeline... 3 years ago the residents had been asked to leave and just as those in Kisumu who are living next to oil tanks: they refused to move... In a shoking comment 3 yrs ago, one of the residents said: Hakuna hatari, hakuna mtu amekufa, sisi husika una pipe chini lakini hatujawahi iona. Mafuta iko chini, na sisi tunaishi juu... In addition one of the residents admitted that, they have been siphoning oil for quite sometime now and if the fire never happened, these people would have contined to live a normal life. oblivious of the danger that sorrounded them. Ignorant of the warning that the government had sent...

So do we blame the Serikali., for our Ignorance, our Greed, our Rush, our Lack of planning? We need to change this culture, upgrade our morals, delegate amongst out selves, take matters on our hand to consciously think of what our action are doing to endanger our lives and the live of our fellow Kenyans! Lets become: Responsible Citizens!
